Will launch post the BMW G310R.
Carandbike cites its sources in saying that the TVS Akula 310 will have its market launch towards the end of this year. TVS officials refused to comment on the motorcycle’s launch, but a previous report has also put the launch timeframe to October 2016.
The Akula 310 was shown at the Auto Expo 2016 in pre-production stage. Being the first fully-faired motorcycle from TVS, the Akula 310 celebrates 33 years of TVS Racing. The pre-production concept featured a carbon-fiber bodywork with a lightweight trellis chassis, an aluminium sub-frame with ram-air induction, gyro damper, on-board cameras and a thermal management system.
At its heart, the TVS Akula will see the BMW G310R‘s 313 cc backward-tilted single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with DOHC, developing 34 hp (25 kW) at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The Akula will also be borrowing its front fork, rear suspension and alloy wheels from the G310R.
Reportedly, TVS is also planning a limited run Akula with carbon-fiber fairings. The carbon fiber parts could be manufactured by BMW.

However, prior to the market launch of the TVS Akula, the BMW G310R will be introduced in the country. It will be manufactured by TVS Motor Company for the domestic and export markets.
