Could be more powerful than the Unicorn 160.
The Honda CB Hornet 160R will launch on December 10, the company has confirmed. Dealers have already started taking orders for this model and the booking amount is INR 5,000. The Hornet will round up the ’15 launches in 2015′ mission of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India. The model was unveiled at the Honda RevFest in early-August alongside the 2015 Honda CBR150R & 250R, the Honda CBR650F and a ‘mystery motorcycle’ that was launched recently as the Honda CB Shine SP.
The Honda CB Hornet 160R can be booked for INR 5,000.
Expected to cost higher than the Honda CB Unicorn 160 that was the first product in the ’15 launches in 2015′ program, the CB Hornet 160R would be a premium alternative to the same. It will replace the Honda CB Trigger and it will compete with the likes of the Yamaha FZ-S FI (Version 2.0) and the Suzuki Gixxer.
The Hornet 160R was showcased at the RevFest in August this year.
The Hornet will be powered by the 162.7 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 14.5 bhp of maximum power and 14.61 Nm of peak torque on the Unicorn 160, but it is expected to be offered in a more powerful state of tune. The gearbox would be a 5-speed unit.

The salient features of the motorcycle include a single-unit headlamp, an LED taillamp, a standard fork, a monoshock, a disc brake on the front as standard, optional rear disc brake, optional CBS (Combi-Brake System), a fully digital instrument console and a short & stout silencer.
