While the G 310 GS is an adventure touring motorcycle, the BMW G 310 R is a naked street-fighter. The BMW G 310 twins are likely to cost INR 3 lakh and INR 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the G 310 R and the G 310 GS, respectively.</p>
<p>The G 310 twins are engineered and designed by BMW Motorrad in Germany, while TVS Motor Company manufactures the motorcycles at its facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. <a href="https://indianautosblog.com/2018/06/bmw-g-310-r-bmw-g-310-gs-bookings-india-306848">BMW has started accepting pre-bookings for the vehicles at an amount of INR 50,000</a>, while deliveries are likely to start next month. The BMW G 310 twins have taken a long time coming to the domestic market, and according to BMW Motorrad India, the company wanted to increase its dealership network in the country before launching the bikes.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://indianautosblog.com/2018/07/bmw-g-310-gs-vs-royal-enfield-himalayan-vs-kawasaki-versys-x-300-spec-comparison-308593">BMW G 310 GS rivals the Royal Enfield Himalayan, Kawasaki Versys-X 300</a> and the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure, while the <a href="https://indianautosblog.com/2018/07/bmw-g-310-r-vs-ktm-390-duke-spec-comparison-308630">BMW G 310 R competes with KTM 390 Adventure</a> and Bajaj Dominar 400. <a href="https://indianautosblog.com/2018/07/2019-bmw-g-310-r-with-new-colours-unveiled-globally-309170">BMW Motorrad recently introduced the MY2019 G 310 R</a> in global markets that features a new racing red paint scheme, while the company discontinued the old Strato Blue colour.</p>
<p>The BMW G 310 GS and the G 310 R employ a 313 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that features a reverse-inclined cylinder head. The fuel-injected mill is capable of generating 34 bhp of maximum power and 28 Nm of peak torque. The engine pairs to a 6-speed gearbox. Anchorage on both the bikes come from a 300 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc with switchable dual-channel ABS as standard.</p>
<p>The BMW G 310 twins also feature the same suspension components like upside-down front forks and an adjustable rear mono-shock. However, the damping parameters are different on the BMW G 310 GS, which gets suspension travel of 180 mm. On the other hand, the BMW G 310 R receives suspension travel of 130 mm.</p>

<p>The G 310 GS features a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel that combines with Metzler tires. The BMW G 310 R gets 17-inch alloy wheels at both the ends that pair with Michelin tires. The steering head angles on both the bikes are different to suit the purpose of each motorcycle better.</p>
