BMW has revealed that a total of 2,376 motorcycles are affected as part of the recall. According to a report from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the bikes could suffer damage to their side stand with repeated use.

BMW Motorrad will individually alert the affected owners, while dealers are directed to install a new frame or side stand, whichever necessary, without any costs to the customer. The company will begin the recall from 7 August. The company should rectify these issues before launching the BMW G 310 GS and the G 310 R in India. That said, the BMW G 310 GS has started reaching dealerships in India.

The BMW G 310 twins will source power from a 313 cc, single-cylinder, reverse-inclined engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The engine is capable of producing 34 bhp of maximum power at 9,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm, mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The BMW G 310 GS, being an ADV, features 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels that wraps with dual-purpose Metzeler tires. The BMW G 310 GS will rival the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure. On the other hand, the BMW G 310 R features 17-inch alloy wheels at both the ends with 110-section front and 150-section rear Michelin Pilot Sport radial tires.
