BMW G 310 R & G 310 GS for India - 5 things to know

<p><a href="https://indianautosblog.com/2018/06/bmw-g-310-gs-g-310-r-india-launch-18-july-308092">BMW Motorrad India is set to launch the BMW G 310 R and the G 310 GS in India on 18 July</a>. Both bikes share the engine, chassis, and many features. However, both serve riders for vastly different purposes. That said, both bikes get different ergonomics with a slightly different steering head angle and wheelbase. The G 310 R gets a steering head angle of 64.9° and a wheelbase of 1,374mm. The G 310 GS gets a steering head angle of 63.3°and a wheelbase of 1,420mm.</p> <h2>Engine</h2> <p>The BMW G 310 twins employ a 313 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that is good for 34 bhp of max power at 9500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7500 rpm. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Both bikes run the same engine maps and sprocket setups.</p> <h2>Suspension &amp; Wheels</h2> <p>The BMW G 310 R and the G 310 GS feature 41mm front USD forks and a preload adjustable rear mono-shock. However, the damping parameters and spring ratings are different on both. For instance, the G 310 R gets suspension travel of 140mm &amp; 130mm (front/rear), while the G 310 GS ADV 180mm of suspension travel on both the ends. The G 310 R features 17-inch wheels on both ends. However, the BMW G 310 GS, being a tour-enduro, sports 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels.</p> <h2>Features &amp; Electronics</h2> <p>The BMW G 310 twins will feature an all-digital digital instrument cluster and LED taillights. Disc brakes anchor braking duties at both ends with standard ABS, which can be disengaged.
