Arun Siddharta, Senior GM of Marketing, TVS Motor Company Limited, has revealed some technical details of the next gen TVS Apache 200 to the Indonesian media recently.
The Apache 200 is an all-new model with little or no connection to the existing Apache variants. The styling, chiefly the fuel tank, is inherited from the TVS Draken X21 concept that was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The other features are a regular front fork, a monoshock at the rear, disc brakes on both wheels, a fully digital instrument panel including tachometer, a flat fuel tank cap, split seats, an LED tail lamp and tubeless tyres.
The motorcycle will be launched without ABS, as the ABS variant is planned for a later launch. Pirelli Sport Demon tyres are said to be under consideration for a higher variant of the Apache 200.
The engine will be a 200 cc single-cylinder unit with SOHC and 4 valves. The liquid-cooling system for the motor has been developed by BMW Motorrad, adopting the technology used in the BMW GS models. The German company has provided technical inputs too for the Apache 200, as revealed by Siddharta.

The liquid-cooling system on the Apache 200 has been developed by BMW Motorrad, with the technology used on the BMW GS motorcycles.
The model is still under testing by TVS and by BMW Motorrad in Germany. The latter is also involved in the Quality Control measures for the flagship Apache.
