Kawasaki has released a video of the Kawasaki Concept J. The Japanese brand revealed the electric vehicle at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.

The Kawasaki Concept J made its European debut at the 2014 INTERMOT. The electric concept features two front wheels which are capable of banking individually, and a single rear wheel. The bike offers two riding positions- Sport and Comfort Mode. In Comfort Mode, the bike offers a relaxed riding position for city riding. The rider sits in a conventional, upright riding position and the adjustable track of the twin front wheels is set wide for maximum stability. In Sport Mode, the track narrows down, and the overall riding stance becomes more aerodynamic, allowing the rider to be “as one” with the vehicle for high-performance runs.

Powering the Kawasaki Concept J is the brand’s proprietary battery management technology – Gigacell. It is a high-capacity nickel-metal hydride battery that can store large quantities of electricity. However, Kawasaki has not revealed the output figures nor the range of the electric motorcycle.

The rear wheel of the concept bike appears to be hub-less.

The release of the trailer video could hint at Kawasaki’s plans to create a production version in the future. It would be an ideal eco-friendly three-wheeled alternative to the recently unveiled Yamaha Niken. Moreover, the push towards the need for electric vehicles could also warrant the transformation of Concept J into reality.
