Honda has unveiled the Grom 50 Scrambler Concepts – One and Two, the Honda CBR400R and the 2016 Honda NC750X at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Both Grom models are powered by a 4-stroke 50 cc air-cooled engine.
Honda Grom 50 Scrambler Concept Two
The Concept Two gets a military theme comprising of a matte-olive-green fuel tank, black and silver components, and a beige leather seat. The motorcycle gets a pair of silver air intake pods on either side of the fuel tank, a lightweight but highly rigid monocoque rear frame that supports the seat, a custom front fender, a rear tyre hugger, an abruptly ending exhaust, and the rest is more or less shared from the Concept One.
Honda CBR400R
The all-new CBR400R fills the void between the CBR250R and the CBR650F. The fully-faired sports tourer is powered by a 400 cc twin-cylinder engine with DOHC and 4 valves. It features LED head- and taillamps, adjustable rear-set foot pegs, Moriwaki exhaust and Bridgestone Sportmax tyres, which make it more of a sports machine than a tourer. The vehicle will be launched in the Japanese market ‘soon’. It is unclear if this model is destined for India.
2016 Honda NC750X
The new NC750X follows the brand’s “Crossover Concept” formula, to deliver on-road and off-road satisfaction. The upgraded version gets new styling and optimized mechanicals including chassis and powertrain. The functional improvements include a 70 mm (2.75 inches) taller windscreen, new front suspension with dual-bending valves, new rear shocks with a preload adjuster, enhanced exhaust that produces richer beats and a revised Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) that is programmed with three ride modes. The luggage capacity is increased by 1 litre, to 22 litres.
