The Yamaha R25 facelift will have heavy mechanical updates.
A new report in Iwanbanaran estimates that the Yamaha R25 facelift will be delayed as an MY 2019 product. The bike will gain several technological as well as design updates from the R-series family.
The Yamaha R25 is expected to get upside down fork up front, Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) and slipper clutch as seen in the new Yamaha R15 v3.0. The design language will bring the 2019 Yamaha R25 significantly closer to the 2017 Yamaha R6 along with LED headlamps.
The present generation Yamaha R25 is powered by a 249 cc in-line twin cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled mill coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 36 PS of power at 12,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. The 2019 Yamaha R25 is expected to be slightly more powerful to position it against the new Honda CBR250RR which has an output of 38 PS.
The report also adds that undisclosed senior Yamaha officials confirmed that the new Yamaha R25 will not get riding modes like the Honda CBR250RR.
For a 2019 launch, the facelifted Yamaha R25 can be expected to be showcased towards the end of 2018.
