Bajaj Auto planning more premium models priced over INR 1 lakh.
Bajaj Auto Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj confirmed earlier this month that the company will roll-out more and more premium models in the next 2-3 months. One of the planned premium models is an adventure motorcycle says a new report from Thrust Zone.
Citing an undisclosed source, the report says that the adventure motorcycle from Bajaj will fall in the 250 cc class. It will sell under a new brand and get power from a new engine, suggests the report. This model could retail somewhere between INR 1 lakh and 1.50 lakh, given that the Royal Enfield Himalayan with its 24.5 bhp 411 cc engine is priced at INR 1.56 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
In the 400 cc class, Bajaj Auto is believed to launch a Scrambler variant of the Bajaj Dominar 400. The company may launch this Scrambler variant also under the new brand and is currently working on its marketing plan. The Bajaj Dominar 400 sports a 373.3 cc engine that develops 35 PS and 35 Nm of torque. Power is channelled via a 6-speed transmission.

Bajaj Auto is also considering electric two-wheelers. These battery-powered models aren’t expected to arrive in the near future.
