IndianAutosBlog.com has learnt that the Honda CB Hornet 160R, unveiled at the Honda Revfest early last month, is slated for market launch towards the end of October. The CB Hornet is part of HMSI’s ’15 in 15′ which is the slogan for the 15 launches announced by the Japanese two-wheeler company for 2015.

The Honda CB Hornet 160R would be priced higher than the Honda CB Unicorn 160.

The Honda CB Hornet 160R would be powered by the 162.71 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, that was introduced in the new Honda CB Unicorn 160 in December 2014. This motor is capable of giving a maximum power output of 14.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 14.61 Nm at 6,000 rpm on the Unicorn, and would produce a very similar output in the Hornet. Transmission duties would be performed by a 5-speed gearbox.

The CB Hornet 160R will be HMSI’s answer to the Suzuki Gixxer and the Yamaha FZ.

Salient features observed in the Hornet 160R during the Honda Revfest unveil include halogen headlamp, traditional single-rod handlebar, fully digital instrument cluster with indication lights, clear lens turn indicators, muscular fuel tank with integrated extensions, stout exhaust can with black tip, split grab handles, X-shaped tail lamp, and multi-spoke alloy wheels coated in black.
